Our NOVA visit
Last week, we went home for a few days. The first (and most important) thing we did was hit up the Prince William County Fair. I grew up right behind this gem and let me say, if you haven't been then brother, you have not lived! Where else can livestock and children be judged by their beauty? Where else can you get a donut burger? There is nothing more majestic than a Manassas redneck's mullet flowing in the wind as he watches the monster truck rally.
But I digress! Audrey had fun and Micah was once again annoyed that he lacked the mobility to fully participate in any fair event.
This kid was way cool. He was working the 4H booth and although he was unfortunately a Cowboys fan, he acknowledged how truly worthless Tony Romo is!
Audrey took this one. She insisted that I be the pig. Guess I should hit the treadmill?
Audrey's "cutie mark." Thank you my little pony.
My parents work out at a rock climbing gym. If you live in PWC you should definitely check out Vertical Rock. They had a lights out climbing night so my ever patient dad braved the three year old madness and took Audrey climbing. She loved it!
My folks pulled out our old Brio trains. Audrey asked me to build a track. My inner A type built this glorious, multi level structure that was pure perfection. Then....Micahzilla destroyed Tokyo.
Last but certainly not least! Our whole reason for braving the 95 corridor! Matt and I bought tickets to the Redskins/Steelers preseason game at FedEx field. What an awesome time! Over the last few years, we have really begun to enjoy football and it was nice to sit and have a beer and enjoy time together. It made that time all the sweeter when the Skins whooped the Steelers butts! Matt was bitter and said, " well, it is only preseason." I say, "nuts to that! A win is a win! HTTR!"
Hope y'all (meaning my five readers ;)) have a blessed week. Thank you for continuing to follow us!
Busch gardens the sequel!
While we had Gigi and Aunt B visiting, we tried Busch Gardens for a second time.
Audrey rode the Grover roller coaster. If you ask her about it, she will say that daddy's pants hurt her eye. Translation: when they took the turn, she wasn't ready and fell into Matt's lap and caught his button with her cheek. Still painful but it sounds less creepy when it is explained. The picture from the coaster was hilarious. She had this indiscribable look on her face. I couldn't stop laughing. I know, mother of the year.
Micah was less than excited that he was too small to ride the coaster.
His first ride! Audrey insisted on the pink pony. Is anyone surprised?!
This is dragon land. Audrey bullied Matt into carrying her across the net on his back. Can we say wrapped around her finger?!
Love that sweet face!
Audrey and Micah loved the show in Ireland! Audrey even got up and danced.
What a fun night!! The best part was watching Matt and Audrey enjoy the fireworks. This was the first time he has been able to take in a show with either kid!
Beach day
Audrey's godmother and my bestie came for a long visit a few weeks ago. The kids had a blast with their Aunt B while I suffered with a bad case of the bronchitis. Thank you to my amazing best friend for helping us out and for watching so much Duck Dynasty (my new guilty pleasure). Anyways, all Corey wanted was to get ice cream, so we got up the local Ben and Jerry's at Yorktown Beach. So much fun!!
So daggone smart!
Matt and the kids came to help me unpack my new classroom. I gave Audrey my magnets and I turn around and she has sorted them by color. Is she my kid or what?!

Baby cakes mini pies!
Rainy day!
Medical drama!
While Gigi was visiting, poor Bean broke out in hives! We wracked our brains, trying to figure out what he could POSSIBLY be allergic to! peanuts? tide? air?! It turns out that his body wiring decided to fight his cold by using hives! Scary stuff! As you can see, he was clearly no worse for the wear but yowza!
Sushi with Gigi
Matt's mom has been visiting us this week. Of course, we had to hit up Sasaki for sushi (try saying that 5 times fast!). Audrey loves the chopsticks and Micah was happy eating the rice. We are loving having Gigi here!
